Grimsby Actor Tyler Robinson has been nominated for two awards; OUTSTANDING WRITER for this filmPETERSBURG and SHORT FILM ROLE TEEN ACTOR Award in Los Angeles, California, for his great work in PETERSBURG. Not only did Tyler star in the film, he wrote the script also.
The nomination was announced on May 31, 2020, on the Young Artists Academy Awards YouTube website Announcement.
PETERSBURG placed top 15 for Screenwriting at the Topshorts Film Festival in 2019.
Tyler was awarded “Best Young Actor” by the Topshorts Film Festival for his role in Heart Strings. (January 2019) Tyler was nominated for a 2019 Joey Award for his role in Heart Strings, a Kalkaden Production film for BEST ACTOR IN A SHORT FILM, 15+.
Tyler was nominated and brought home a Joey Award for BEST LEAD ACTOR IN A STUDENT MADE FILM AGES 14-19 YRS. OLD for Jade, another KalKaden Production. (November 2018)
The Two Man play that Tyler was a part of went to the Provincials and won Best Ensemble. Tyler also competed in 2019 at Provincials for a play called SONNI BOY, where he portrayed the lead character Sonniand went on to earn a nomination for Most Promising Actor. The play has won numerous awards.
Tyler Robinson was also chosen as one of sixteen (16) to travel to Scotland in August 2020, for The High School Fringe Festival. Only two schools in Canada were selected to attend. Tyler is comfortable on a theatre stage as well as on a film or television shoot.
Tyler has joined the team of KalKaden Productions. Since joining Kalkaden Productions, Tyler has worked on many projects, not only as an actor but also behind the scenes. The projects have included Pie Boy, written and acted in Petersburg, In My Heart Music Video, Magic Shots, commercials such as Dodge Ram, two “Food4Kids” projects. Tyler has also been busy working on films; an untitled York University short film, a short called Kidnapped By Wolves, as well as a student film project.
Tyler dabbled in acting in different films and once he realized how much he loved the craft; he has been un-stoppable. He has trained with Michael Caruana from Bongo Productions in Toronto.
