Q & A with Actress Sadie Baramikova

Sadie Baramikova is an actress represented by The Burke Agency. She currently resides in St. Catharines but is from Thunder Bay, Ontario.

We caught up with her to see how things were going, and had a little Q& A!

As a child, did you want to be an actress, or did it fall into place through other activities?

I’ve always had an interest in the performing arts as a child. I’ve been playing violin for over 8 years and I enjoy it immensely but something in me always had a passion for acting, and although I didn’t start acting as a child I’ve always wanted to act, and it has always been a part of me.

Who inspired you to follow your dream to pursue acting?

I would say my biggest inspirations are the people around me, like my acting teachers. I’ve studied under brilliant acting teachers who’ve supported me in ways I can’t even imagine. Some of those acting teachers are Livingstone Beaumont, Christina Collins, and Judah Katz. I also take inspiration from my family, they’ve supported me greatly and I can’t thank them enough.

What challenges have you faced in the entertainment industry?  What has been your most rewarding experience?

As with any actor you try and stay positive about your career. The challenges I’ve faced in the entertainment industry is in no way different to any other actors struggles. We all try to succeed but sometimes it doesn’t work out the way you want it to, but you never give up!

My most rewarding experience has been booking a supporting role recently in a feature film by the award-winning director, writer, and producer Mukesh Asopa. I play the role of Kateryna and I’m very excited to share more news. Just recently the film has moved to the post-production phase.

What is your favourite type of character to play?

I think being an actor you must be open to playing all kinds of characters. It would be a disadvantage for an actor to just be focused on one type.

What market do you currently work in?  Are there other areas you would like to work?

I currently work in the Toronto market.

What advice would you give to someone new trying to make it in the acting industry?

My advice to new actors would be to never give up. You are going to face so many struggles. Some days you’ll be happy and other days you won’t be, but the most important thing you can do is to believe in yourself, do the best you can, work hard, and in the end, it’ll pay off! Always have a passion for acting, that is what drives you.

What fuels your passion?

I would have to say again, the people who’ve supported me. They are my fuel.

What is something about you that most people would never guess?

I was born in Thunder Bay, Canada and I think most people will never guess that I am Crimean Tatar!

If you were to do it all over again, would you do things exactly the same?  Do you have any regrets?  Successes that make you proud?

I think I would do things the same. I am happy of where I stand today career wise, and I’m very blessed to have made the friends that I’ve made in the industry to date – and I hope to make more as my career progresses.
