BEST ACTRESS IN A SHORT FILM AWARDED TO ASHLEIGH MORRISON

Newmarket Actress Ashleigh Morrison has won a Joey Award in the Vancouver, BC Virtual Awards Show held on November 7, 2020, for BEST ACTRESS IN A SHORT FILM for her role in For Christ’s Sake; directed and written by Toronto’s Simon McNally. 


Ashleigh also won a second award for her submitted monologue.

Ashleigh had been nominated for Two (2) Joey Awards, announced September 7, 2020 on the Joey Awards website.

Her nominations included BEST FEMALE IN A PRINT AD for her publication in the BizFashion Magazine in Suzy Q Jewels Fashion Wear and BEST ACTRESS IN A SHORT FILM for her role in the film For Christ’s Sake. 

In 2019, Ashleigh Morrison won BEST FEATURED ACTRESS IN A FEATURE FILM for her role in the feature film Detainee X and in 2018; BEST FEMALE HOST at the Joey Awards, for her interview with Bill Nye the Science Guy, at the Nintendo Labo Launch in Toronto. 

Ashleigh has trained with Armstrong Acting Studios, LB Acting Studios and Second City in Toronto, as well as Young Actors of Atlanta.
