Newmarket Actress Ashleigh Morrison has won a Joey Award in Vancouver, Canada, for the BEST FEATURED ACTRESS IN A FEATURE FILM for her role in Detainee X; directed by Manee Osman. She received her award on Saturday, November 17, 2019, at the Playhouse Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Ashleigh had been nominated for Four (4) Joey Awards, announced September 7, 2019 on the Joey Awards website. All Four (4) Projects were filmed in Toronto, Ontario. (https://joeyawards.com/2019-nominations)
Her nominations included BEST ACTRESS IN A SHORT FILM 12-14 for her lead role in the Daughter of Babel, BEST FEATURED ACTRESS IN A FEATURE FILM for her role in Detainee X, BEST PRINCIPAL OR SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A FEATURE FILM for her role in Salvage, and BEST FEATURED ACTRESS IN A COMMERCIAL AGE 12-15 for Frigidaire.
Ashleigh Morrison won BEST FEMALE HOST at the Joey Awards in November of 2018, for her interview with Bill Nye the Science Guy, at the Nintendo Labo Launch in Toronto. She has appeared in film and television, and is represented by Hero Artists Agency in Toronto.
